Who?

Historian, teacher, and monarchy supporter Mandy Littlefield is the creator of Mandy's British Royalty, an online trove of royalty-related research and social networking. Her site is known throughout the UK, USA, and beyond.

Born in Las Vegas, Mandy spent a large part of her childhood in a city that is constantly changing. A city, she says, that is completely different from her outlook on life.

"I really love the thought of continual tradition and stability. I am very old fashioned. It's funny to think that I was born in a place like Las Vegas," Mandy laughs.

Mandy moved with her family to Massachusetts at age 8, where she has lived ever since. After high school, she continued on to college where she developed her web and graphic design skills. Soon after completing those courses, Mandy decided to pursue a formal education in history after years of studying the British Royal Family. Her current career involves developing an extensive knowledge of history of both the US and UK.

She made her first trip to London with her husband in 2008 during their honeymoon.

When?

Mandy's interest in the monarchy began in 1997 at age seventeen. Her grandmother's stories, as well as genealogy research, led her to her sturdy English roots and subsequently, the country's system of government.

From the ancient rituals to the national debates on the institution itself, the Royal Family was fast becoming a favorite topic in Mandy's house.

Through much reading and research, Mandy discovered that the Royal Family was an incredible living representation of history in Britain. She also found that Her Majesty the Queen is a marvelous lady who is tirelessly dedicated to crown, country, and Commonwealth. In 1998, "Mandy's British Royalty" was born to document Mandy's research and her admiration for the Queen.

Mandy is also passionate for a strong connection to Britain in general.

"The house that is modern America was built on a British foundation. Our type of government, our laws ... We need to remember our roots. If we lose touch with that, then we weaken the bond between two great nations." she says.
